Updates - Sad News....
I guess there’s been enough time since my last update… And I could make another one.

First the bad news…
Had to sell the truck. After some storage problems (and other problems not worth mentioning here), we had to sell a couple cars. And unfortunately, the F100 was the first one to be sold.
I didn’t even had time to install the new frame…
And even without a truck, I’ll still be around, bothering you all.
The not so bad news…
The storage problem is solved for now, and I guess the only car that’s still for sale is a 67 Beetle, that should be gone soon.
The better news…
A friend of mine offered me a 1959 (1963 in Brazil) F100… Cherry red…
He wants to trade it for my Galaxie…
I said I’d do it. Waiting for his answer…
Whish me luck!!
One more thing… Please, never buy a car with a friend. Even if he/she is your best friend… You’ll end up without the car and your friend…
Best regards,
Lucas (Lobo)
The new truck sounds interesting, tho' I'd have to see it to appreciate it. Those Kelvinators have limited charm in my book.
Being on this board with guys who have nice versions of those year trucks have softened my harsh opinion of Ford's styling department from that era. Of course, I'm pulling your leg... just want to see if we can get a rise out of those '59/'60 guys. Kind of like Niolon and his engine thread.rambunctiously, himmelberg
Thanks for your words.
It takes time, but we eventually get over it.
I guess that’s the way life is… Like a friend of mine is always saying, "Life is not like a car, that you can choose the one you like, the options that best fits your needs. In life, you get the whole package, and you must deal with everything to make it all work out. Some thing are bad if you look only at it, but it might be something good and useful when you figure out why it was there".
From this, you get the evidence you needed to prove that my friends and I are pretty "normal" people, with a healthy head. No need for a shrink or that kind of stuff.

I’ll try to get some pictures of it. But I won’t promise, since I no longer have a digital camera. Soon I’ll be in book of records as the guy who brakes more cameras every year.
The last one I forgot under the driver’s seat. Washed the car with a pressure washer and… Water got inside the car. And inside the camera as well.
But I guess you could came to Brazil and see it in person.

Do you think I could make some people visit us down here if I say that most of our Y-Blocks had ECZ-G heads and that I can get some pretty cheap?

I’ve also seen a 1956 F350, but it’s in bad shape. I think one of those would make e nice tow truck…
My problem right now is "time" (read $$$)…
And I think I’ll be in Galveston/Houston in July. Need anything from Brazil?
Sorry for the long and off topic post.
Best regards,
Lucas (Lobo)
I happened to see a few pics of the details on those brazil trucks, pretty neat stuff. 56 style guage in a 57-60 cluster, the sheild taillamps and square bed wheel wells, you've already promised pics so I'm looking foward to them as the foreign trucks always peak my intrest. -4speed
Mrs. H would love a trip to Sao Paulo... as would I, Lucas. Too bad Houston is a longish ten hour drive away from Midland or I could pic up those "g" heads.
Fortunately you have a normal healthy head. Of course, should that change and you get like a 12 year old just before graduating from grammar school... we have a full staff of psychologically equipped members here on the 48-60 board... I think 'fenders wife is in the business, as it were... or is married to a nut. Niolon is a good listener and surely, if we need him, we can bring in George for consultation. In any case, you have your friends here.
unwinding, himmelberg
I’ll get the pictures for you.
He also has a 1959 with a four-cylinder MWM diesel engine and twin-I-bean suspension.
I’ll try to take some pictures of that one too.
But, please remind me of the pictures… Feel free to send me an email asking about them. My memory is not so good, and I forget things quite easily. Last week I went to the supermarket to buy some milk… Paid for the milk and forgot it there… I guess it can’t get much worse than that.

Himmelberg, I believe it is easier to drive 10 hours non-stop than carrying those heads on a plane… hehe
It’s great to know there are people here that we can count on.
If anybody ever needs anything from Brazil, or decide to came here, I’ll be glad to help with whatever I possibly can.By the way, down here people always say that I’m crazy after they see my 76 LTD, with a 292 and a 3spd. where a 302 and a C4 used to be… I even installed the Duraspark ignition on it (finally). And as soon as I get a couple things figured out, it will be fuel injected…
Thanks everybody!
Best regards,
Lucas (Lobo) – thinking that only 10 years ago he was one of those 12 year old that couldn’t wait for the classes to be over to go mess with his uncle’s tractors….
