Ford 8.8" to 9" with Discs

Has anyone upgraded there 8.8" rear differential to a 9" rear differential?

Can the rear disc brakes be reinstalled on the 9" rear differential?

Is an E150 van rear diff wider than a F150 truck rear diff? If so, by how much?

Thank you for your time and assistance

I just measured a van axle I I can ot recall how much wider it was than the bronco housings. It's something like a couple inches different in length. Maybe an inch per side. I still have the van axles but the housings are gone. I could compare the axle lengths from the van and the bronco for ya. I did not measure the leaf spring pad pocation but they should be the same.

There are plenty of after market kits for installing rear disk brakes on a 9 inch axle.

Upgrading to the 9 inch is pretty much a straight forward swap unless you have a 92 or newer truck then you need a rear axle with the VSS hook up. The drive shaft will need a little work but thats about it.
