electronic speedometer
I have a 93 f150 4x4 that no longer has the 8.8 rear and speed sensor (switched to a 9" after bending the 8.8 housing)and I would like to have a working electric speedometer.
I heard that ford used a cable from the 1356 transfercase to a converter under the dash to make electonic speedos work on some 92 and up trucks. Does anyone have this system in their truck? All the trucks I have seen use a speed sensor pick-up from the rear axle housing.
Thanks
carl
I know adapters are used on Gm vehicles that have larger tires installed to correct the speedometer . Im pretty sure any shop that deals in 4x4 alterations can tell you for sure what you will need for your truck . Does your transfer case have the hole where the speedo cable would go ? Plus the output shaft on the T case has to have the gear on it that turns the speedo gear . Sorry I cant be of more help .
