I hope you don't paln on using that mobil 5000 in the 460 doesn't hte 460 have a flat tappet cam i think it does if so this oil and all sm rated oils are not made for flat tappet cam engines the new sm rated oils cut the zinc in half to meet emissions you could shear a cam lobe by not running enough zinc take a look in the oil forum or ask rusty or flash.

is it OK to use the oil in our 5.4 liter V-8's?..... i have 1,500 miles and was thinking about changing my own oil and filter at 2,500... i plan on replacing the oil plug with one of those drains with a open/close lever on it that i have seen on a few websites..... but i am not sure if i should use the free 5qt's of MObil 5000 that i will be getting (plus an additional 2 qts as the 5.4 l takes 7) or if i should just put Morocraft factorty oil in the truck instead and give the Mobil 5000 to a friend....???

The mobil oil is a perfect oil for the modular engines ford reccomends using 5w20 in the modular engines now but they used to reccomend 5w30 both oils are very good for this engine the 5w20 gets the cafe numbers up in tests both oils perform well in these eninges because they are very gentle on the oil anything over 5w30 in these engines is pointless you can actually ruin them you can drain the sump and burn up the lower bearings or have no oil on startup there is people that think they need a heavy oil like 15w50 in these enignes because they tow a trailer that is simply not true the tests have shown they wear out faster with thick oil and ford tested these modular engines to the extreme on the 5w20 oils and they performed well very little wear.
