Hi all, i need some help with a problem i have with my motor in my 86 f150
efi 302. The problem is that i had the motor rebuilt and put it back in the truck. started the truck and ran it for 10/15 mins and notice water come ing out the tail pipe, so i shut it off and check the oil and it look like milk, check the pluges and the #5 & #8 pluges had water in the celinder. Called the shop that i had it rebuilt at and he said that he wood check the heads for me so took off the heads and he check them and said the they are fine must be the intake. check the intake and looks good to me and some other friends. what do you think it could be please help if you can. have $1,20in motor and it doesn't run and it is killing me.
try putting it all back together with new gaskets. After its run for a while go back and re-torque the intake. After my 89 f150 302 efi was rebuilt I had same problem and it solved it. rear bolts had loosened up a tiny bit. good luck
What Dungeon said. My '84 with 300 six leaked water like crazy at the head after a rebuild. We were given the wrong torque specs for the head bolts, so after I re=torqued everything, no leaks. Only difference: I had a coolant pressure pump that pressurized the system, and never actually started the engine until things were properly snugged up. Must have done it right. I got 100K out of the rebuild, and the new owner is happy with the way it runs.
