289 power

i am building a high performance 289 to put in my racing 91 mustang. this is what the specs are going to be:

Edelbrock Performer Rpm cam
.030 over hypereutectic pistons (10:1)
69cc heads, w/ 2.02/1.60 valves, ported and polished
roller rockers 1.6:1
windage tray
3x2 intake and carbs
headers
2.5" dual exhast w/ Flowmaster 40s

what kind of power and torque am i going to expect with this setup? what can i do to get more power out my 289 w/o increasing cubic inches? what kind of quarter ETs am i going to expect with that power with a C4 auto w/2500 converter and 3.73 gears? Desktop Dyno figures are appreciated.

Out of curiosity, why are building a 289 instead of a 302/5.0? Are you figuring on higher revs with the shorter stroke?

As for RPM range, I raced a 302 in a circle track car and consistantly saw 7200, autocrossed it once and hit 7500 a few times with no ill effects. Are you having the motor balanced? That makes a lot of difference when you start getting into the higher RPM territories.

Stock rods or aftermarket? And if stock are you at least replacing the rod bolts with ARPs or some such and having them resized? That 7200-7500 I ran was with stock 289 rods, (on a 302 crank) polished and peened with ARP bolts. Your results may vary! -TD

i just want to be different. everyone runs 302s in their fox bodies, i want to be different and run a 289. i guess a little bit shorter crank may allow a little bit higher revs. if it makes a difference to make it balanced then i'll do it. i'm using stock rods, and i'll have them resized and install ARPs in it. With tri-power induction, ported and polished 69cc heads with screw in valve studs, 2.02/1.60 valves and 1.6 roller rockers, 10:1 comp., windage tray, full length headers with 2.5" exhaust with H pipe and flowmasters, what should i be looking for in power, torque, and ETs?
