New Shocks?
I have a 1996 f150 2wd w/ a 302. I hear a "loose" knocking sound when I hit small quick bumps. What is this? I was hooping that it is just worn shocks (56k miles). Is it something more complicated? I would like to hear your thoughts before I buy. Thanks -- Martin

New Shocks?
I bought my 89 F150 about a month ago and heard a similar noise. I crawled under, and shook the shocks by hand. It turned out that the shocks in the rear where so loose and worn, that it oblonged the holes in the bracket where the bolt goes through to hold the bottom of the shock in the rear axle. So I installed new shocks and put grade 8 washers on either side of the bracket and welded them to the bracket. Everything seems fine now.
