Air conditioning system????
I am without A/C in my truck. i know th freon is out. i jsut dont know what type of system i have... either an R12 or and R134. does anyone know which one it would be. there is 40$ diffrence per pound of freon.

What year ?? Look for a tag on radiator support or on compressor that might specify. I believe the turn to 134 was in early 90's and it should be cheaper to go with flush and fill with 134 even if you have R12, but I haven't don't the swap over myself.

flush out the r-12 and get new oriface tube cost 3 to 5 dollars for tube its what meters the freon inti the evaporator coil they all ways get plugged up after time then get the correct type oil for r-134a its pag oil. evauate system to 500 microns if possible then draw in the oil apx 6ozs then charge pretty easy its the tools most people dont have good luck dave ps the oriface tube goes in the liquid line just before the evap coil at firewall (small line)
