Aw, Brandon....There are so many good books out there on Head porting its hard to choose...
I would suggest ..just doing a google search for Head porting for beginners..and start from there... I have done it off and on.. about 10 sets in 30 years..LOL...But I dont trust myself with my own heads?? Cause I get REAL Mad if I screw-up...
I dont like throwing my own tools around the shop!!! lol..
Good Luck in your search..By the way..I learned from watching a buddy of mine Do the hogging out!! (the Hard part) and I did the finish work...But I NO nothing compared to these Guy that do it for a living!!
Good Luck in your search.. It takes quite awhile to get the right feal..
are you wanting a fully ported set, port-matched, or just smoothing up the runners and ports with a cartridge roll? it gets pretty time intensive (and patience!) if youre doing a complete port job and then you really need a flow bench to see if you did good or more harm than good! like russ said though do a google search and start there. there is tons of material out there. standard abrasives comes to mind. they have a how to packet you can download and print off that would be a lot of help. happy porting and good luck man.
I agree, standard abrasives has port and polish directions online and a port and polish kit you can purchase. I opted to take my heads to a shop after reading on it and thinking about all the time involved.
