ok heres my delema. i have a 78 f250 4wheel drive it has the standard drivetrain. a 400-np435-np205 with a dana 60 rear. my father also has the same combination in his 79. same identical trucks except one thing. the front axles. he has a dana 44 with ball joints at the knuckles. i have what i think is a dana 60 because it has a kingpins instead of the ball joints. i looked at the cases in both of them and mine is bigger. now my question is do i have a dana 60 or the mythical dana 44hd? i have heard that ford ran a dana 60 housing with dana 44 gears in it. im stuck in germany and my truck is in washington. can anybody help me out with this?
