There is a new FMS 393 built on the Sportsman block with forged pistons and rods in the new Summit catalog. The HP and torque look good and the price aint too bad...
The only ford stroker I saw was a 392, i duno if that is the same motor you speak of, but I didn't like it.
It was $6500, the sportsman block is not all that much stronger then the stock block, and the bang for the buck isn't necessarily there.
The only thing to watch out for with a crate motor, is whether or not that engine is setup the way you want it to be. If it's not, you'll have to change it.
In my case, almost everything would of had to of been changed to meet my expectations.
You can call a place like DSS or CHP and have them build a motor the way you want to, or you can buy a kit, a shortblock, the options are endless.
Look in my gallery at what I got for a 393. It cost about as much as that ford crate motor, but IMO better.
Thats true you can call up a few different places and get whatever combo you want. I had never seen the 392 FMS (yup, it wasent a 393), but for those who dont mind the price, 392 HP and 475 TQ delivered to your door in short order, Summit is the place!
