Question Point gap setting

Hello

My good ol' 240 I-6 had a point change but I honestly don't know the point gap setting. It will continue to run rough until I change this. Anybody who is old and wise should know this setting. Thanks all.

I don't want to contradict Greg Truck but my is set @ 17; been told either 17 or 18 is the proper gap?
I'm not as wise as him; and I'm just an old shade tree mechanic with alot of leaves missing..

According to the shop manual (1966) - spacing should be 0.025 for a 6 cylinder (dwell angle 37 degrees to 42)and 0.017 for an 8 cylinder (dwell 26-41).

Hope that helps.

if in a pinch like on the side of the road use a match book cover / buss card as the feeler guage.
