Timing Issue
I've aquired my first b2. Its and 88 with 2.9.
When i bought it it was running very rough. The man told me he had put new plugs and wires but couldnt get it to run any better. I drove it home and it had almost 0 power i thought i was gunne have to pull it home the first hill i came to. After getting it home i started playing around with it and noticed the distributor was loose. I put it at TDC and the rotor was about 90 degrees off the #1 plug so I assume the distributor has been removed and wasn't installed in the correct position. I've tried to correct this by reinstalling the distributor so its pointing at the #1 plug while at TDC.
My problem is I'm not 100% sure i'm at TDC. all the timing marks on the pulley are clear however there seems to be 2 timing indicators (ones a point and below it is a circle) can anyone tell me where the "T" mark on the pully should be at TDC (on the point or in the middle of the circle? I know the timing should be 10 degrees BTDC but i want to make sue the distributor is in the correct position 100%.
I've gotten the truck running 80% better then it was but its still got a little miss in it and want to make sure the timing is right before i go any futher.
I hope i've made sense.
Thanks in advance.
