I just had a set of 255/70R15 tires put on my '70 F100. All I can say is.. wow. They stick like glue. Handling (I know it's a truck, but still) improved significantly. They're nice and quiet also.
The old tires I had were 265/75R15 Goodyear Wrangler's. They'd spin through first and most of second gears. The new ones just give a little chirp from first to second (I've got a shift kit). This is behind a 400+ horsepower FE 390.
Rusty, Cooper Tire Company, based in Findlay, OH., has made great tires up and down their passenger car, and light truck tire catalogs, since the early 60s. I would never hesitate to use Cooper Tires, then and now. Ed
