My '98 Expedition was vandalised while in a parking lot (opened with a screwdriver at the handle, passenger side). It was parked , no accident, it's just that alarm system on this vehicle is not worth crap.
That being said, right after that I had two things happen: only one horn blows, and I have an airbag error code 42. For the horn, I saw that one wire was cut... but the other one is not! So am I to assume that the thief cut my passenger crash sensor wire instead of the second horn wire?
Any help for a quick visual check would be highly appreciated -- again, the code I'm getting is 42.
Now for the factory security system on a Ford Expedition '98 -- not worth much! There's no reason why you sould find you car vandalized with the batteryy still full of juice -- it should of rasied hell when somebody opense the door from the inside without having sensed a key or the remote. It's such a rude wake-up call!
I don't think any of the Expy models have factory alarms. But they have keyless entry for convenience and a PATS key system that will keep the vehicle from being stolen and driven away. But nothing will prevent someone from using a slim jim or even breaking a window to get in.

I guess you are right: I think I expected too much from the Remote Anti-Theft PM... Even if it worked as an anti-theft device, all one has to do is to cut the two horn wires, and from there on is all green light, 'cause not many people will be bothered by the flashing headlights for a couple of seconds.
Anyways, my fear is that the thieves cut one wire from one horn, and the other from the passenger crush sensor... it's just that my Chilton's wiring and vacuum diagrams book is 100% silent with regards to this wiring...
At least htat's what error code 42 suggests to me.
