Need a real transmission
Okay guys,
I have a 2003 F-550 service bed truck with almost 60k. I already had the trans rebuilt at 31k by ford under warrenty, they said it threw overdrive codes?
My truck weighs about 12,000# without trailer and I tow a 10,000# trailer on a regular basis. I have a Gear Vendor with 4.88 rear end.
I have gauges, mag trans pan, trans cooler w/ fan and large exhaust. The onlything I have not done is to chip it, as I am concerned about longeveity of motor.
I plan on keeping this truck for another 10 years or more with over 500,000 or so before i retire it.
I want to be prepared when this trans fails. What trans should I buy? Does it take a while to get? I live in southern California, should I take it to someone specific?
I love my truck but have always been worried about the transmission.
