HELP!! I have a 1988 E150 Conversion van (low top) when it rains water poors in from under the dash on the passenger side only. The water is coming in from the black box where it joins the body. thriugh a sponge like matreial the black box also has water in it. I can hear the water dripping in but can not see anything till it comes out of the box. If I put the air con on there is a little door that opens that is where the water is. It only started doing this about 2-3 weeks ago. I sealed the bottom of the screen and if anything it now seems worse!! Iam pulling my hair out. Here in England it rains a lot HELP!!!!
Hi and thanks do you know where these are? Iam thinking of taking the grill part of the van where the wipers sit and have a good look under there! I hope I dont have to take the screen out!!!!

There should be a drain on each side. Leaves and dirt sometimes get in there and plug the drains.
The AC drain is under the van below the evaporator.
I took the panel off under the sreen can not see anything!! I am trying to pull the dash pad off and trying to take the black box out under the dash. Is that little silver box some sort of ECU? The more I try to look the more I have to try and take off The nuts that hold the black box were only finger tight but I dont think that had anything to do with it. Thanks again Craig...
SUCCESS I think! Rain stoped play so I put all my tools away and sat in the van and with in seconds I could here the rain comiing in, but still could not see anything. I got out and looked at the panel where the wiper arms are, and in the corner where the fenders met the panel there is a foam type stuff that has started to break down. I dryed the water and stuck a towel in there got back in the van and it had stoped. got out removed the towel and I could hear it again. So fingers crossed !!!!
Hello Craig, I hope you've got your flood fixed.
Couldn't help but notice what I thought was a misscomunication in this thread that could cause problems. I think that when 94VAN said "screen", he didn't mean the front window glass, yet I believe when you said "I hope I don't have to take the screen out!!!!", you ment the wind screen (windshield).
There are a number of terms in reference to automobiles that do not cross the pond well. (boot, bonnet, and windscreen, come to mind) A good number of us Yanks are not up on the British terminoligy.
Anyway, just a word of caution incase my assumption was correct.

Hi, yes I know what you mean. I did well though I could have really got you going and called the fenders "Wings" as we do here. Then pepole would think I had the only Flying Econoline in the world.....
Thats not good! You need to keep it dirty side down!!!! Its all back to gether now, all been reseald. And the best bit?? There are no screws or nuts and bolts left over! and everything still works!!! all the best from England Craig.....

I believe it was a Honda manual I had that had a warning "Any reference in this manual to "torch" refers to a flashlight and not an open flame."
I don't recall seeing "torch" mentioned, but I can imagine some "awkward" incidents from mixing them up.
