I have an 03 F250 4x4, bought used about a month ago. I have had 2 occasions when I go to back out of the driveway or a parking space, I need to give it some throttle to move. It almost felt like the frontend locked. Any ideas?
Chk to make sure your front hubs are unlocked or you have esof that the front hubs are unlocking all the way.
quick chk crawl under truck and try to turn the axle stubs by the front knuckles.
Just a FYI, my left side was not disengaging properly, the stealer had to replace the hub. You could feel the left front "gripping" when doing a 2-3 mph hard turn.
This happened at 17k miles.
The dummies put the wrong hub in too!
The new one said LOCK/UNLOCK instead of LOCK/AUTO.
Wasn't just labeled wrong, it was internally different.
I pointed this out to the mech and he said, oh, we'll have to fix that, can you leave it for a day?
GRRRRR!!!!
Anyone know if you have to do like the old days, unlock and back up 10 feet to totally disengage?
