Changing Tranny..What else..??
Thanx for all the posts I've read today on Transmissions.
I will go to the junkyard to seek a 1991 A4LD tranny to install in my 4X4 Explorer and should know what to change externally with new parts.
I don't know what's up with my trans except in revs and hardly moves in all gears. I don't know about speed sensors, boost valves bodies, valve body solenoids, the pump etc.
I think I can change the valve modulator outside and hope I'm doing the right thing. Cant afford the 1500$ to 1800$ rebuild charge and am throwing the dice on a junkyard tranny.
So, any info or comments [ good or bad ] will be appreciated. Maybe i could fit in a heavyer duty tranny...?
and while its torn up in the drive-way what else should I replace..??
