I know this topic has probably been covered, but I can't get any archive pages to pull up so here goes again. Is there an easy way to convert my '93 351 F150 to mass air? Any kits using the stock computer harness? I've got my Mustang air meter sitting here, and can get a Mustang mass air computer easily enough, how about using the Motorsport engine harness? Any info appreciated.
I believe the easiest way is to look in a Ford Motorsport SVO catalog available at most Ford dealers for the correct part number. They have Mass air conversion kits available for many vehicles. I installed one on my 89 F150 about 2 years ago. I searched the classifieds in the back of 4 wheeler and other magazines and if I remember correctly I purchased it from Reider racing for about $500.
Good luck,
Mark
Ford only makes the mass air conversion for the 302 trucks. It can be used on the 351, but it must be modified, and I don't know what is involved. give FMS a call to find out. The kits for the trucks are a bit more expensive than the stang kits, $650-750, depending where you get it. Pro-flow http://www.pro-m77.com/ also makes a conversion kit for about $800, but they can set it up however you want it.
The problem with truck mass air is trucks are not SEFI like the Mustang. The injectors are bank fired like the Crown Vics. The harness and computer are totally different. A long time ago I did this convertion to an '87 CV sqaud. I have often thought about marketing a harness to put a Mustang SEFI/MA computer in F-series.

Hi again,
Just wanted to make another note here. The Ford and the Pro-M mass air conversions convert the injectors from batch fire to sequential fire. This alone should make more power and a better running engine. Ford uses an injector/MAF harness that plugs in between the original harness and the new SEFI type computer. I would guess that this harness would work with a mustang computer, but I can't say for sure (call FMS tech support). If not, you'll probably need to make up your own harness like Jim did.
