Question Help! Another alternator fried........

Hoping someone might have some insight. I have been through 6 alternators since the purchase of my rig Nov. '02. I toasted three under warranty before installing two small stereo amps, so draw from that is not the problem (I would think). Voltage regulator is on the alternator I believe, so that's out of the question as well. Any ideas anyone??

something is creating a draw, or you are buying crappy alts. I would have the elec system tested

you could use one of those clamp amp meters that clamp around a wire to sense how much current is passing through. Once the truck is started and you've had ample time to top the batteries off, you should be next to nothing for current draw with everything off. Don't know the exact amount on a PS but I was told that once started it should only take about 5 amps to keep an enging running, i.e. PCM sensors, fuel system, etc.

Also, is the Glow Plug relay turning off?
