trans problem
Have a 96 F350 auto trans with 280,000mi. for about the past year just about every time you backup from 10 to 100 yards when you shift to drive nothing happens. rev up and rev up some more,,,, then it will go. seems like the longer you back the longer it takes . the truck is driven 150+ miles per day, with no other problems

How is the fluid level and condition? When was the last time it was serviced? If the fluid level is OK, red in color, and not burnt you might want to consider having the transmission serviced with a filter replacement. Once the pan is off you can inspect for debris in the pan. If the fluid is brown and burnt start thinking "rebuild". If it's the original transmission, with all those miles a rebuild might be the best way to go anyhow.
