I have a 79 f100 parts truck that a friend of mine wants to buy the cab, to make his 79F100 truck a quad cab. I don't think he will ever get it done personally, but ya never know. So my question is this, should I sell my cab for $200? He wants the doors of course too. The condition of the cab is pretty good has some exterior rust but no rust holes, the driver side floorboard has a spot through the floor, the doors are a bit rusted through only on the inside. I don't have much of a problem letting the cab go. I would like to keep the doors for future use posssibly. But for 200 am I getting ripped? Would just the cab be worth 200?
its supply and demand, if you dont really need it go for the cash. i picked up a 79 [parts truck] for doin a r&r tranny for a guy and got my front end pieces then sold the truck in pieces. put about 250 in my pocket above what i had to start with.
I have seen cabs go for nearly $1000 without doors or interrior's and then I have bought whole trucks for $300 rust free from Georgia. So, it's what ever it's worth to you and the person wanting to buy it. If you can work out a deal that makes both of you happy, then that would be the best. If you don't need or want the cab then sell it to him for a fair price so he can use it. -Ed
Thanks everyone for the replies, the guy is my brother's friend and I do some fishing with him so I guess that makes him a friiend of mine too. I'm just gonna let him have it for 200 although I know someday i'm gonna kick myself in the butt for letting them doors go with it... But the truck I have currently isn't really worth fixing up much, just lifting a bit more and driving it, mostly through mudd! he he Alan
As stated above, make a deal that makes you both happy.
I sold a blue & white lariat seat in good condition for $50 It was in my rusted out POS plow truck and the guy I sold it to was restoring a truck. I'd rather see it go to good use than see it go to waste.
I know they can fetch a few hundred bucks, but I have no regrets.
If ya need another 78 cab, I have a rust free one I don't need. It striped, cleaned, painted black and sitting in a barn.
