Jp-8

Jp-8
Im in the Air Force and Im a fuels troop. That means I issue fuel to aircraft on the ground, and I also issue diesel and mogas(gasoline) as well.
I was told JP-8 is just a high grade diesel, and if I wanted too. I could put it in my powerstroke and it would run just fine. I know when lab comes out to sample the trucks, they pour what they sampled into the trucks fuel tank, and the trucks have, what I believe are Cummins diesels.
So, has anyone else heard this? I was just wondering.

First off, thank you for what you do. We all appreciate it!
Jet fuel is closer to kerosene than #2 diesel. Your engine will run, but not near as well as with #2 diesel. You'd also lose quite a bit of lubricity which could cause injector problems in time. It also has less energy per gallon, so your fuel economy would drop some.
I'd stick with good old diesel.
