I just came home from another great family camping trip. Towed my 35ft fifth wheel toyhauler loaded to the hilt. Pulled the same nasty hills to northern AZ that I have towed a dozen times, still cruise up at a nice easy pace never getting below 50 mph. GOD I LOVE THIS TRUCK.
Thanks again to Heatstroked, Cookie, and Quad for all the advice along the way to building up my truck and Heat again for actually hands on helping me do it to!! Thanks guys and happy trails.
Are we suppose to have this much fun towing heavy loads?? I wonder what it's like for those that try and tow with a gasser or half ton, if they enjoy it like we do??

I've tried it with both gas and diesel, watching the diesel guys smile as they pass me like I was parked on the shoulder. And smiling as I pull that exact same trailer up the exact same hill that I pulled at 25mph in the gasser, now going 50 and not even full throttle. And the gasser was no slouch, it was a 460, Full Banks header system, Cat removed, 4.10 rear axle.
I had a 93 F-250 with a 351c.i. motor. Used it a lot to tow race cars to various tracks through some steep mountains. It did O.K. power wise, but the thing that stood out was how stable the suspension was. It was a great truck to pull with. Then I bought a 25' Toy Hauler. I quickly found out how gutless that small block was and just as quickly bought a PSD (besides, I was always jealous of my friends that had them!). Due to the new truck being a 4x4 and a shorter wheel base, the towing stability is not as strong as the old truck. But the power is incredible, it's almost painful to slow down going up big hills to take it easy on EGT's. I love that motor....and my wife (not necessarily in that order???). She's the one that said "if we need more power, then let's buy the PSD", what a gal!
