Bronco= Truck or SUV??

I've decided to sell the Bronco and get an F-150 Super Crew 4WD. Not an easy decision at all, but one that I've made and am finally able to deal with.

Here's the thing though, when I go to list it - I keep getting asked if it's a truck or an SUV. My answer is that it's a truck - no question. But if you were in the gas station and were looking for a Bronco - would you pick up the "Truck Trader" or the "SUV and Van Trader"?

If you want to find a "Bronco owner" then put it in Truck Trader! Unless you want to pawn it off on some "soccer mom" who will never use the 4WD. Just my $0.02.

SUV

To me Broncos and Blazers are SUV’s. The others are all station wagons.

Of course you could always list it in both places.

The Bronco has been around since before the FTC even developed the classification for "sport utility vehicles". It was originally marketed as a "light truck/utility vehicle" because there was no such thing as an "SUV". The FTC didn't even usher in the SUV classification until the auto importers tried to sneak station wagon-bodied light trucks in as "passenger cars" to avoid the higher import tariffs.

a bronco has a bed too but its covered by a top, it has a tailgate, and with the top off its basically a truck but its not closed in between the bed and the inside of the vehicle. Suvs now do not have tailgates nor the tops come off plus they are soccer mom vehicles.

Truck Trader it shall be.

Hate to, but I need four doors and rear shoulder belts for the boy. I've looked at all the possible solutions for belts, but there are a few other reasons for the Bronco to hit the sales block.

Funny thing, my wife plays soccer, is a mom, and loves the Bronco more than any of the other 31 vehicles I've owned.

I always think of minivans as being soccer mom vehicles. Not SUV's. And a lot of newer suv's do have tailgates. My expie does, by friend's explorer does too. But I do agree that they should bring the removeable top back. That was and is the best idea ever.

its the best SUV ever made.

Its not a truck. No cargo capacity, too short of a wheel base to tow alot.
I love my 84 bronco, but its a 4x4 play toy, not a truck.

Hmmmm....... like carpeted? It's the EXACT SAME as the one on my pickup!! And it does not have a piece of glass inside it to smash into pieces when you close it hard, like my ol'mans Suburban or my best friends '78 Bronco. We replaced it with plexiglass so that will never happen again.

i just naturally call suvs and pickup trucks "trucks" anyways so I don't really worry about it. There is one name i completely disagree on and thats the bronco being called a stationwagon.

We have had our Bronco since it was new in 1983. The majority of those 22 years, it was refered to as a truck. It is now primarily my hunting truck, but I do have street tires and would not hesitate to go anywhere, that is if I want to deal with 10.5 mpg.
Most of the "SUVs" I see could not get me halfway to my deerstand. My Bronco could from day one and it still does. I would hate to disrespect my Bronco by calling it an SUV.
