Auxiliary fan
I live in a very hot place and to exacerbate things, traffic jams are a normal recurrence. Will it help if I would install an aftermarket auxiliary fan to assist in the cooling of my engine and to improve the cooling performance of my aircon? I have a 4.2 truck.

First- you are running the proper anti-freeze water mix aren't you?
An add on electric fan certainly will help, especially in traffic situations.
Whether it will be enough to have a positive effect on the AC cooling temp in the cab is a maybe. Just depends on how hot and how long you're stuck in traffic.
