Here's a first hand account for no start probs. My 95 PSD started to act funny about 4 days ago. It wouldn't start in the mornings. She'd crank and crank but no start. If I left it alone for a while, sometimes in the afternoon it would fire up and run all day no problem. I know, first thought, stupid CPS again...nope I had a signal to the Tach. I had plenty of fuel cuz she'd puff white smoke out the tail pipe and you could smell unburnt diesel. Next... thin oil maybe? Nope changed it just in case, but couldn't be that lucky. So I picked up a code scanner at Pep Boys. OBD II compatible and relatively inexspensive, $200. Well the scanner wouldn't play well with the Navistar programming for the diesel motor . HMMMMM, so I started to hunt down a few of my Buds who were "professional" mechanics. One suggestion...Glow Plug Relay. Sure enough the relay looked pretty cooked. Proble solved right.....got the relay from NAPA $80, hooked it up, truck fired right up, last one in stock too . So little test ride tried to shut off the truck, still running!!!!! AGGGGGH. Key out wouldn't shut off. Appartently I was over zealous, tightened up the terminals tooo much and cracked the BRAND NEW RELAY . Now 7pm gotta wait til tomorrow and try again. Oh well chalk it up to the "what no to do catagory"
