Adding a factory trailer brake controller, Questions
My SD did not come with the factory tcb. I was wondering if anyone out there has installed one yet? I have an 05 with the diesel. What is involved and what was the cost? doy you have to replace the master cylinder or can you add a pressure switch? Any info would be great, also any part numbers or instalation instructions from Ford techs would be even better! Thanks.

Brake Controller
Most auto parts stores carry brake controllers (about $60) that just plug into a panel under your dash, no need for anything else done to your brakes, if you want a pro to do it take it to a RV center, they have done this to many trucks..

Mine camae with the controller, and it is WONDERFUL!!!!!!!! I added the upfitter switches and they were plug and play. Installed the needed wiring harness for the switches, the switch assy. and plugged into the relay panel all in abaout 10 minutes. The pre-existing 2005 harness plugs into the break controller and the controller pops right into the slot in the dash. Check with your dealer to make sure the harness is common, with or without the tcb. If it is, order it, install it and have the most controlled trailer breaks you've ever used.

Installing TowCommand on 05 F-Series:
There is now a kit available to install TowCommand trailer braking system on truck that were not originally equiped at the factory. For diesel and all dual rear wheel applications use kit 5C3Z-19H332-BA. For gasoline trucks with single rear wheels use kit 5C3Z-19H332-AA. Broadcast Message 4065.
