VIN decoding help & questions
Two potential purchases:
1969 (I believe) F100 4x2, VIN F10YKE73952
1971 F250 4x2, VIN F25HKL84085
Both trucks have automatic 3-speed trannys (does the "K" in the VIN indicate the C6 auto?)
Were the C4 trannys ever used in the early F-series trucks?
Also, does anyone know of a source for factory paint colors?
Thanks.
-Craig
The F250 had a 390 and was also built in KC in June of '71.
That's all the info you can get from the VIN #. If you want more, check the door tag.
Send me a PM or email and I can point you in the direction of some useful resources.

F25HK is F250 H=390 FE K=Kansas City
The FE engine was backed by the Cruise-o-matic in it's early life and then later by the C6 trans, you should have the C6, they did not receive a C4. If you take the color code from your door tag to a local paint shop. they can get you going with a fresh mix.
