Electrical problem in 89 Lariat

Electrical problem in 89 Lariat
Brake lights fine with lights off during day. Head Lights on means I have no brake lights and turn signals also no longer work. F250, '89 Lariat XLT. New vehicle for me. Writing this message for son-in-law so I do not know if this is an 8 or 6 cylinder or if that makes a difference. Thanks for any suggestions.

First guess is a bad filament in one of the rear lamps or even front where filament is welded inside the bulb between the running lamp and the stop taillamp filament. When both are used 12v on the filaments cant get to ground on either part of the bulb. It is also easier to start at bulbs first. Also check for good ground at each bulb when you check. Good luck.
