I have a 94 f150 XLT 2wd that has an axle labled as H9. I found a site that has this axle coded with the limited slip already in it. Is this correct? And when i change to 4.10 gears (after 6" sus and 3" body) can I use this same LS or will I have to buy a "compatable" one to go with the new gears? Any and ALL comments will be greatly appreciated!
come on people!!!! i find it very frustrating that out of the many, many people on this site no one can answer this qusetion, or take the time to. from the other posts on this site i find this an easy question to answer......someone give ma a break please.
Right now you've got a 3.55 LS. You can put an 8.8 4.10 ring gear on the same carrier, no problem. As long as you've got it apart, REBUILD the carrier. Clutch packs are cheap and they don't last forever so take advantage of the opportunity.
Also, if you want a little higher bias, when you rebuild it use a disc-plate-disc-plate sequence instead of the disc-plate-plate-disc sequence that Ford uses from the factory. It'll pull much harder before slipping, but it may be a little noisy in low speed turns and may tend to twitch a bit
