help with 96 psd

i need help, my truck a 1996 crew cab 4x4 psd, the idle gos up and down by 2 to 400 rpm , and some times heisatates when pulling out, and a flat spot when crusing, no codes new fuel filter just cleaned the air filter any help!

Might be as simple as an oil change.

on a scanner the hpop is going up down 400 lbs is this normal, what should it be

Nope, not normal. It might still be an oil problem, but it's likely your injection control pressure sensor, or the injection pressure regulator has a problem.

I would still change the oil first.
