a4ld torque converter clutch
hi, I have a 1990 ford ranger with a 2.3 liter engine and an a4ld automatic trans a few weeks ago I was getting off the highway and as I aplied the brake the engine putterd down and stalled out. now I can start the truck and it idles just fine but as soon as you put it into any moving gear it jerks and the engine cuts out. the engine runs fine though, starts, runs and you can rev it up no problem. I read somwhere that if the tcc locks up and stays locked you have to rebuild the entire trans, but I also read that you could just clean the solinoid in the valve body and it should be fine, any information on this would be greatly appreciated, also could it be somthing other than the tcc.
