i have a 1979 ford f-250 with a 400 C-6. i am trying to find out what tranfer case i have i have looked for a tag like what is on the axles but have been unable to find anything that will id the case. can anyone tell me where to look or if there was a standard case for this year of truck
It is probably a New Process model 203 or 205. If it has hi lock and lo loc, it'll be a 203 for sure. Not my favorite case, but there are alot of them out there.
If it has 4L, N, 2H, and 4H, it SHOULD be the NP 205. I think Dana made a single speed T case sometime in the 70's on fords, but I don't remember when or in what trucks...
