I was reading a post in the off road thread and say someone talking about removing the venturi tubes off of a 460. I have a 93 351 and was wondering if I had them and if I do how hard would it be to remove them. The person whom the thread was posted to said that when he removed them he saw a big difference in engine performance. Ok I'm starting to ramble.....
Can anyone tell me if I have them and whether I should remove them?
Thanks
Can't say whether the 351 from that year has them. My 93 300 didn't. Anyway, it's easy enough to find out. Remove the snorkel that runs between your airbox and throttle body. Look through the tube(s). If they are straight-through, without any obstructions, you don't have venturi tubes. If you can see a horn-shaped (like an air-horn) thing, then you've got them...
I think the person your thinking of is h8monday. He has a 460 in a f-250. I don't think the 351 had them either. neither of my 302s (89/93) had them. Either did friends trucks 91 f-150 351 92 f150 351. You can remove the ram air baffle, but i doubt you'll notice any improvement.
