Well, I have finally got it done. Since no one really makes a sub box that will fit in an extended cab '02 except for a single 10 inch as a glorified cup holder or a center section seat replacement, I took the liberty of building one myself. It fits 3 JL 8w6's and fits under the rear bench. Pics in the gallery in case anyone else found the same problem I did and wanted an idea.
The w6's took some searching on eBay, but well worth it. w3's were too wussy, and the w7's are just too deep.
That came out real nice! I went with the stealthbox which works good in the truck but it's not as loud as my old 12w3s in my van. How do you feel the 8" drivers perform for rolling lows? What else is in the system?
The doors have MB Quart Reference Series, and the deck is a Kenwood. Can't remember the model number, but it was one of the first MP3 decks out back when that was all the rage. Looking maybe to upgrade to an Alpine. The Amp as you can see in the pics, is a JL Audio 500/1.
The 8's don't get the low low rumble that the 12 did, but they are a lot punchier, and in my opinion better sounding. They do have a low rumble, just not as low.
