Yet Another Overload Spring Question

I got to rethinking my overload spring setup. My F250 has 5 main leafs, and a single factory overload spring. I was going to add a second, but had issues with the factory spacer not having a long enough centering pin. So here is my latest idea: why not get a set of 3 or 4 leaf springs from a 1/2 ton and trim the eyes off the ends so the lenght matches the overload bump stops on the frame. Does any one see any possible issues why not to do this? I figure this will more than give me enough overload capacity. I should come close to the 10 spring setup some 1 tons have without the stiff ride. Not to mentions I know were I can get a set for nothing. Let me know what you think.

The best thing to do is get a spring shop to build you a overload spring pack they are not expensive and they can be matched to your main leafs. The overload springs just sit on top of the block which sits ontop of the main pack then the U bolts clamp it down.

The other cheapest option is go with timbren rubber cushion springs they work just as good plus you don't get the overload slap with a empty truck.
