Cold start

Hi, hoping someone can help me diagnose a cold start problem. 1995 F350 7.3 Powerstroke. First let me start by saying there is plenty of battery for cranking power and no drag on starter. engine cranks over as it should and am getting alot of white smoke, it even tries to fire. After several attempts it will usually start. The colder the temp. the harder it is to start. I replaced the glow plug relay and got no positive results. Truck runs fine after starting and will restart immediately, without cranking more than a revolution or two, with no smoke after letting it run long enough to clean up(a minute or two). The mileage is around 200,000. Oil consumption is just about zero. I can go 3-4000 miles without adding a quart. Use a CF4 grade oil. I hope I have included enough info to help make a diagnosis, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Zman

I had nearly the same problem....BUT....which seemed to be a glow plug/relay situation....but I just now see that you have done this.....have you had both batteries actually load tested with each on unhooked? Just wondering..........
