"I had planned on winning it and writing an article on "How I won a crate motor and gave it to a buddy in Kingsport, Tn."
Well I got dibs on Bill's 3000 GHP heads then. And No, the "G" is not a typo.
Seriously though, this is a great raffle prize for a buck a ticket raffle. There couldn't be a better engine for an Effie. A Windsor is still a girle motor. But it's kinda like one of those weight lifter chicks that's been taking those roids. You wanna smart off, but you know you'll get a whippin in front of your friends.
Well Bill... old buddy... never though YOU would turn on me... but seriously.. I had planned on winning it and writing an article on "How I won a crate motor and gave it to a buddy in Kingsport, Tn. to replace his girly 302" but I guess you wouldn't want to HAVE to read that... too bad
later
john (I've got cold friends)
maybe some clarification is in order here.... I wasn't going to GIVE him the motor... I was just going to write a fictional piece about giving him the motor"
I might be stupid but I ain't smart !!! wait ?? did I say that right
Thanks for your support Fenders! I hope a FTE member wins, I would love to read the threads on that one. Then the feature write up on the install and the person with Ford Racing, wow there are some interesting times coming.

Is that 5.8 crate motor bigger physically that a 302? The reason I ask: At the nats I was looking under the hood of a 56 that had a 302, and she said, ahhh, isn't that itty-bitty motor cute.

A 5.8 351 is just a wee bit taller and wider than a 302. And they're damn near as cute as a 302.
If it is a 302 it is a 'girly' motor even it is blown and has 700hp. There is no question ever. Its is like a bra size below a certain number it is just a little girl. Not to be confused with a big girl.....Purple did I get it right.

I couldn't have said it better, Bill. Same with you DeWalt.
Now the 351 Cleveland on the other hand. Thats a "macho" motor!
Oh, did I mention that I had one of those in my Mustang?
