O.k. have a 4X4 Lariat SD with V10 SB, was getting 9-10.5 MPG first few weeks, now I'm only getting 7.1 MPG (Haven't changed driving habits i.e... lead footin it) I do remember really topping off the tank once, so I'm wondering if I screwed something up. Now the fuel light comes on at a 1/4 of a tank left. Considering dropping off at dealership to see if something is out of whack. The first day I picked up truck dealer put 92 in it and I remember CPU saying 297 miles left, now when I fill up with 87 CPU only registers 233 at best. Does the CPU compensate for higher octane burning or not? Should I drop off at dealer to see why light comes on at 1/4 tank mark? What I described sound a little abnormal? Also I can swear I hear/feel slight vibration or hum above 35MPH, wondering if tire balance outta of whack? OK sorry for long post, fire away guys and thanks in advance.
Is fuel cap on tight?
Can you pull any codes?
You may need to clear codes (dump memory) and let system reset itself.
Are you getting your mpg info from your OBC or figuring it yourself?
OBC's are notorious for being screwy.
Is this a new truck? If yes, of course take to dealer. Start a record with them now of any problems, and remember, service counter personnel are often just car salespeople of a different type. If there isn't anything to gain for them by fixing your problem, they're likely to try blowing smoke up your ---.

How do you figure your MPG? The lie-o-meter is just that. MPG should be callculated manually.
