I always, as a rule, try my best to speed between the speed bumps!!!
If they were meant to slow you down, it isn't working. They are just put there to avoid lawsuits, i.e. if someone got hurt by a speeder, the property owners, municipality could claim, they were trying in earnest to discourage fast driving.

I have to creep over them in the Aerostar. If not, the front end will be bobbing for the next half-mile or so...and the rear end will get some air-time

15-20 or whatever the normal speed is for the road, unless I have a full load of firewood in the back. Can't really feel them in the 1971 F-100 4x4 (with the air springs in the back), especially since I keep my tires low at 40 psi (suppose to be 60) since I like the tire's flat footprint and being able to wrap the tread around stuff.

Depends on the size of the speed bump, and the road it's "controlling". Some I slow down for, some I speed up for. But it's also different for every car. The ones I slow down for, my wife's car can speed up, and vice versa.

I slow down for them when they are in parking lots near the stores entrance just to be safe. I certainly don't have to, any other time I like to hit them without using the brakes especially if there is a lowered car behind me . Wife's Mustang is a different story though, you have to craaawwwwwllll over teh bumps.

What I hate are the towns that use the dreaded speed DIP, almost every vehicle will hit their front end omn the ground going over these disgusting things.

that brought back some good memories mrknight- when i was in college we would stand on the corner of an intersection and "race"- us running and the car driving- accross the intersection. there was a HUGE dip on the other side. we raced a late 90s camaro and he managed to beat us but MAN you should have seen the sparks fly when he hit the dip!

When I was a teenager I used to stomp the gas just to see how much airtime I could get. Tore up a few vehicles and busted a few tires but it was fun. Now days I just take them at normal speed dont slow down or speed up.

I always thought that those annoying little yellow bumps in the road were called sports cars. It would be a lot easier to go slowly over them if they'd stop zig-zagging.
