I got a set of fuel filters and went to work. Studied up on the 6.0 bible site and FTE. Drained the fuel water seperator and replaced filter under truck, no problems, other than I had to use vise grips, because I live in a small town and no one carried a fitting socket (im assuming its a 1 3/8). I then changed the secondary fiilter with zero problems.
The truck then would not start and i figured the fuel system had to charge back up. Well It cranked and cranked, letting her rest for awhile in fear of damaging the starter. Then I hear a seaping sound and found fuel to be spraying out of the filter cap seal under the truck, (i hope its just the seal). It appears to be seated correctly, i dont want to take it off until i have the correct socket, im damaging the hex head with the vise grips, is there a speacial wrench i can buy that fits that bad boy, and have i done something realy bad
Got er, done, the O-Ring Seal had torn, thus not keeping an air tight suction, causing the lack of fuel to the injectors, causing no Runing Engine. Replaced the seal, this time using an old fashion oil filter wrench. And Wha La, gave the fuel pump three cycles and BAM started right up, no leaks !!
