Fuel gauge problems

Cool Fuel gauge problems
On the way home today the gauge went from 1/2 to WAY over full and stayed. I made a stop, and when I restarted the truck, the gauge was back to 1/2. Then about 2mi down the road, back to full. What happened?

I would suspect a bad wire, if the circuit goes open you'll read max full.

So, this morning the gauge worked perfect. Still think I have a bad wire?
