Anti-theft tips

I have a 2005 F350 SD/PS that I use to pull musclecars to car shows on a 20 foot open trailer. I often stay at motels/hotels and leave my truck and trailer in the parking lot. I always worry about someone breaking into the the truck, hot wiring it and driving the truck, trailer and car away. In the old days, before electronic ignitions, you could pull the distributor cap, yank off the rotor and the vehicle would not run. The only way to steal it would be to tow it off. Is there anything that can be done to a SD/PS to disable it so someone can not break into it, hot wire it and drive it away? Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

do a site search for alarm systems. and take a look in motor heaven for them.
a good system cuts out the starter system.and makes enough noise to wake the dead.

Tons of anti-theft devices available. I must admit I don't have one, nor have I ever had one, but if you do a search on anti-theft devices you will find a bunch.

I see lot's of cars/trucks that have 'the club' attached to the steering wheel. Again, never had one, but there must be something to them.

However, I thought the newer Ford's had the 'chip' in the key. Maybe not...and maybe the thieves have figured out how to get around that anyway.

The club is a joke to a car thief. True, it's made of a hardened material that is almost impossible to cut but your steering wheel isn't. It's made soft so it will deform if your head hits it in an impact. A hack saw will cut your wheel and the club is off in less than 30 seconds. Like captchas says, go electronic with a LOT of noise.

From: Fort. Lauderdale FL,
I have a really cool idea on hear in the past. Just have to know the wiring. I have heard of guys Taking the starting wire or whatever it takes and running it through an unusal switch to make the connection to start the truck. I know of a few guys that ran that majic wire for instance to the cigarette lighter so the lighter has to be in to start the truck and to make it safe he just took the lighter with him when he needed and whala no start. There are so man things you can wire it to.. Dont know if thats what your looking for but its a safe way to do it also. I know guys who have ran a switch to the PCM or the computer i guess that of course is No computer no starting .. I know there is alot but just thought i would throw that out. If anyone has done the wire to the lighter or other piece maybe they will post wich wire it is and how to do it.
