What should the compression be on an '88 302 efi, I am headed to the shop to check the compression, my symptums match some others found in the forum and this was recomended, but I would like to know what I should be looking for.
The most important thing to look for is evenness across all of the cylinders. I don't know an actual number that the compression should be, but I would think up around 150 or so would be pretty good.
My 89 302 checked 80- 150 last month. Certainly not even but was running ok, but won't start now.
No popping spitting or other signs of being interested. Sprayed some ether in it, got mild sputtering, will be checking for gas flow somehow this morning. How does one disable the advance when hooking up a timing light, I miss my vacumm advance distributor
Needed bigger dose of ether to pop sputter, and almost start. No fuel pressure in rail though, can hear neither fuel pump running in fore or aft tank. Will attemp to find fuse labeled fuel pump. Didn't have crash but will look for crash switch also.
Can't find a fuse, can't find crash switch. I know my 85 has a crash fuel pump shutoff switch on the floor hump passenger side, thought that was on everything now.
Maybe someone has color code for hot wire and Ill just crawl undet truck and add new pump hot lead
