Need help on wheel situation!
"058" wheels. Like the simple yet nice look to em, so i thought i had it made.
Then i read Max tire size........32". WTF! Thats retarded. That is practically what comes on most full size trucks stock now. We're talking a 8 lug, descently wide wheel! I know they have a buffer to cover their own asses and all, but thats a pretty low bar. I KNOW dam well ive seen trucks with at least 35's on these wheels...so im kinda stumped. I got the shop to talk to eagle, and the one guy said that that is just a number for warentee porpouses so they cover their asses, but he didnt have alot to say about exceeding that. Help me out boys, i need your opinions. I have spent huge coin so far on this ol 79 150, with the D60, the SD rear diff, gears and lockers, lift and crap, and wanted to get a relatively inexpensive nice looking wheel, which this wheel is exactly that, but also dont want to do something if its inevidable that it'll crap out...help!
Sorry for it being so long

Big tires really stress front rims when you make a high speed turn (lots of leverage). Running under-rated rims on the street is not a good idea.
If cost is important, an option would be running aftermarket steel wheels. These usually have very high ratings and the price is right.

To put it in a nutshell, while travelling in a straight line at 72 MPH, the LF wheel split right at the bead surface half way around the circumference. The LF corner of the truck dropped about 13 inches and across the 2-lane I went. They won't warranty the wheel, they don't make the wheel anymore, and no one in the country has any in stock.....I've got 3 useless wheels.
I've since ordered a set of Stockton steel wheels rated for 4000 lbs. and the 49 inch tires.....once they get here I'm mounting them and proceeding on my merry way down the interstate once again.

On a side note, one of my best friends is running Eagle 058's on his 1000 HP mud bogging truck. It weighs about 6300 lbs. and he's turning 39.5 Boggers on 16.5x12 Eagles. Hasn't had any problems in 4.5 years.
