Internet Terrorist!

LAST EDITED ON 29-Sep-01 AT 07:34 PM (EST)[p]PEOPLE!!! Some times I think this world would be so much better without them! Self included! It just dose not make any cence to me why anyone, especially at this certain time, would want to create any more evil than is already here in this world.
This is absolutely outrageous and rediculous.
QUOTE------------------------------------------------------------
Subject:new virus reported by CNN

The creator of this virus must just be sick in the head. Sending electronic greeting cards is as common as mailing them these days.
WORST EVER VIRUS(CNN ANNOUNCED)
Please send this to everyone on your contact list.
A new virus has just been discovered that has been classified by
Microsoft as the most destructive ever! This virus was discovered yesterday(9/28/01)afternoon by McAfee and no vaccine has yet been developed. This virus simply destroys Sector Zero from the hard disk, where vital information for its functioning are stored. This virus acts in the following manner: It sends itsself automatically to all contacts on your list with the title
"A Virtual Card for You". As soon as the supposed virtual card is opened, the computer freezes so that the user has to reboot. When the ctrl+alt+del keys or the reset button are pressed, the virus destroys Sector Zero, thus permanently destroying the hard disck.
Yesterday in just a few hours this virus caused panic in New York, according to news broadcast by CNN. This alert was received by an employe of Microsoft itself. So don't open any mails with subject "A Virtual Card for You." As soon as you get it delete it. Please pass tis email to all your friends.
Forward this warning to everyone you Know.
Also Intel announced that a new and very destructive virus was discovered recently. If you received an email called "An Internet Flower For You," do not open it, delete it right away!
This virus removes all dynamic link libraries (.Dll files) from your computer.
Your computer will not be able to boot up!!

END QUOTE--------------------------------------------------------

I just don't understand what pleasure some people get out of destroying other peoples things. This is just pure evil. This should be eligable under federal conspiricy laws and should be punishable by life inprisonment. If the USG would treat people that do this like muderers and drug dealers maybe some of this garbage would stop. As far as I'm cocerned people who do this are on the same level as drug manufacturers/dealers and racketeering crimanals and should be treated as such. Put them in prison for the rest of there lives so they can not hurt anyone else. Maybe I'm wrong in my views, But I'm pretty well pissed right about now!

I wish people would take a few seconds to check this stuff out before they email/post it. Both of these virus warnings are hoaxes!

[link:www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/flower.for.you.html|Flower Virus Hoax]

The real virus is "well meaning" people clogging mailservers and bulletin boards with warnings about fake viruses.

Posting of such items gets one immediately removed from the mailing list discussion groups.... lets not make it so the same has to apply here.... this isn't virus warning central. I know people mean well when they spread this stuff, but these things are known as gullibility viruses (ie, your forwarding it to everyone IS the virus since no such virus exists). After you've been on the net for a while, it gets old seeing people fall for the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over......

Thanks,
Ken Payne
