2001 supercrew A/C question
I just bought a used 2001 4X4 supercrew. It has 108000 miles and a 4.6 liter engine. Whenever I turn on the A/C,I hear a loud clicking sound when I stand in front of the truck. The A/C works well as far as coolness and blowing. The noise is a little scary to me. I don't want to have to sink a lot of money in a truck I just purchased. Anyone else out there have similar issues? Please let me know if you can help and thank you.

That clicking sound probably is the clutch on the AC compressor engaging. Is the clicking continuous or is it a rythmic sound that comes on every so many times per minute? Outside and inside car temperature will dictate the cycles of the compressor, assuming freon charge is correct.
