I was given a 351w out of a Grand Marquis police car. The 351 has a cast iron intake from a marine 351w. The previous owner isn't sure whether the heads came on the engine or were marine heads. Their casting numbers are E5AE-CA which could be either a 85 car or marine engine but they do not have air injection ports in the exhaust ports. What I need to know from someone who can look it up is what is the cc of the combustion chamber. It should be 62cc I think but not completely sure.
Well so far this is all I can find, they could be marine heads, or they could have came on a HO302 or HO351W. With the fact you said a MARINE engine ,intake etc, and no AIR pump plumbing, more than likely they are marine heads.
180HP 302 8.40 compression ratio 67.5cc combustion chambers
210HP 302 9.14 compression ratio 67.5cc combustion chambers
As for the E7 heads they are 60.50 cc chambers w/compression ratio of 10.20 on a 302 with 185HP, 205HP 351W 9.44 compression ratio also with 60.50cc chambers, same goes with the 210 HP 351W
in a 302 with factory flat top piston with e7 heads makes roughly 9:1 cr. an 85 with e5 heads like my old carb'd 5.0 ho stang lx had 8.3:1 cr with the 70 cc combustion chamber.
To tell you the truth, READING, LOL. I read anything and everything about fords, well the small block stuff anyways. I have done more cross referencing than I'de like to say but after many hours of looking for answers and got the same #'s on heads and blocks it becomes natural for me to look at my log of places to get info from and away I go.
